Pete Casady

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Pete Casady is CEO and cofounder, with more than 30 years of experience in field sales and distribution in the medical device industry. Prior to Champion, he founded Heritage Medical Group, a surgical implant distribution company. In 2006, after seeing the costly gaps in managing inventory within hospitals first-hand, he co-founded Champion Healthcare Technologies to address this pervasive need.

Pete has been a speaker at the FDA’s annual UDI Conference, GS1 Connect, HCCA national webinar, AHIA and AHRMM (Association for Resource and Materials Management) annual conference. He is widely published in leading industry publications, including Modern Healthcare, Becker’s, Healthcare Executive Insight, RFID Journal, the Journal of Strategic Supplies and Services, and Healthcare Purchasing News (HPN). Outside of work, Pete is an avid Cubs fan, confidently anticipating another World Series and is the father of four grown children.

Thomas Casady

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Thomas Casady is the CTO and cofounder, with more than 30 years of software development experience, primarily in healthcare informatics. Prior to Champion, Tom was with with Emtek Healthcare (now part of Eclipsys Corporation) and Carefx Corporation, where he developed and implemented a patient information aggregation system to form a unified view of the clinical record.

Earlier in his career he designed laboratory and radiology information systems at Community Health Computing, acquired by Cerner.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys playing softball and golf, and is an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.

Maria Siambekos

Chief Operating Officer

Maria is responsible for company operations and strategic growth. She has more than 15 years of leadership experience in Fortune 10 and entrepreneurial organizations. Most recently, Maria was the CEO of Vynca, an early-stage advanced care planning company. Previously, she was a Managing Director at Healthbox, where she led their accelerator efforts globally. Maria also led the commercial turnaround of TheraDoc, a Clinical IT business at Hospira, resulting in the acquisition by Premier. Earlier in her career, she held multiple leadership roles at GE Healthcare.

Maria has a B.S. in Biology from Yale University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Finance, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship.

Pete Carroll

Chief Financial Officer

Pete has a broad background in driving prudent financial and operational decision making at both mature and nascent companies. His experience includes varying executive roles and advisory positions, as well as strategic finance capacities. Most recently, Pete was Principal and Operating Partner at Manasota Capital, serving as CEO of RGB Lights. Previously, he held positions and RR Donnelley and SIRVA, Inc.

Pete has a BS in Mathematics from Purdue University and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, including coaching and watching hoops, Saturday morning dance parties and having detailed conversations about Elmo.

Charity Carney

Vice President of Software Development

Charity has more than 15 years of management experience including operations, administration, and project management in the IT and retail industries. Her focus on quality and process improvement helped streamline operations and increase productivity in both large and small companies. Charity has a BS in Business Administration from Clarion University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she earned the accreditation of Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.

In her spare time, Charity ghostwrites for a popular orthopedic surgery blog. She is also an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hunting, fishing and hiking. Charity is a rabid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoys taunting Bears fans on most Monday mornings.

Derek Hunley

Senior Vice President of Sales

Derek has over twenty-years of experience in healthcare sales and business development, primarily partnering with for-profit and non-profit hospitals. Derek has a successful track-record of leading healthcare organizations in sales and marketing strategy, while creating record organic growth in various industry segments. Prior to joining Champion, Derek led growth efforts as the Chief Revenue Officer for Lincor, Inc., a leading healthcare IT company focused on the patient engagement space. He also successfully led new business development and strategic initiatives as VP of Sales for Alliance Imaging, the largest national provider of diagnostic imaging services to hospitals and spent several years in healthcare sales and business development with GE Capital.

Derek is Six Sigma Green Belt certified and earned a BA in Finance from Tennessee Tech University. Derek spends his free time practicing beekeeping and coaching youth baseball.

Steve Coloia

Vice President, Enterprise Sales

Steve Coloia has over 20 years of sales and sales leadership experience in the web-based software, or Software as a Service (SaaS) sector. He has launched and led several sales teams in the healthcare IT software vertical over 10+ years, including the creating the the Champion Healthcare Technologies sales team. Steve brings expertise in the implementation of web-based solutions and the ongoing customer support and training necessary to ensure maximum value to customers in the healthcare field.

In his spare time, Steve is busy chasing around his four children.

Craig Lan

Craig is responsible for the product vision and marketing at Champion Healthcare Technologies. Craig has more than 15 years of strategic and operational experience in the healthcare industry, including a track record of growing revenue by developing breakthrough products that cater to customer needs. Prior to Champion, Craig was Director of Product Management at Hill-Rom, a leading med-tech company. Earlier, he managed portfolios of hospital products and services at Hospira, where he led initiatives to integrate with hospital IT systems and efforts to expand internationally.

Craig has a BS in biomedical engineering and economics from Duke University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jeff Pagnini

Jeff Pagnini

Vice President, Services

Jeff has over 20 years of experience in delivering healthcare software and services. Prior to joining Champion, he held leadership positions at several healthcare IT companies, where he built teams to provide implementation, support, and account management services.

Jeff was most recently employed at NantHealth. He has also held management positions with GE Healthcare and was a biomedical engineer at a VA Medical Center. Jeff holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Jeff lives outside of Boston with his wife, two teenage kids, and a poorly trained (but well-loved) dog. In his spare time, he enjoys driving his kids to their sporting events and trying his luck at home improvement projects.

Amanda Butler

Senior Director Customer Support & Implementation

Amanda has more than 15 years of customer service experience with both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer businesses. She has supervised and motivated teams to improve productivity, increase efficiency, enhance quality, and strengthen profitability. Prior to Champion, Amanda worked for several large corporations including AT&T, BP, and Walgreens where she ensured prompt and proper delivery and ultimate customer satisfaction.

Amanda earned a BS in Management Information Systems from Chicago State University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School. In her free time she enjoys traveling, playing softball and she holds a red belt in Tae Kwon Do.
